Wash Count™, a new members-only program from International Carwash Association, launched earlier this year at The Car Wash Show™ 2012. The program, free to members, allows operators to confidentially share their car wash counts and total revenues in order to obtain exclusive benchmarking data. Information is provided back to operators quarterly, and the first output report included data from all of 2011 and the first two quarters of 2012.
In only its first reporting period, 580 locations representing 637 washes signed up for the program. This level of response allows operators to obtain data at the 95 percent confidence level (+/- 5%) — an unprecedented level of data accuracy for the U.S. car wash industry.
Going forward, each edition of CAR WASH Magazine will share excerpts from the latest quarterly report, similar to what is displayed below. Only participants will receive the complete report, which includes breakdowns by geographic area and wash type for the current, previous and year-to-date periods.
