I’m a lucky guy.

Not in a “win the lottery” or even in a “win at the tables in Vegas” kind of way. More like an “I get to witness some pretty amazing things and tell inspiring stories” kind of way.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit four wash locations in Utah and see some of the outstanding work happening there; From large scale double tunnel operations to perfectly appointed locations honoring their community’s local history. You can see one of the many stories we captured from that trip in this issue of the magazine. We’ll be featuring more stories like this in future issues!

I was also fortunate enough to be in attendance for ICA’s first Women’s Leadership Experience in Chicago in November. Nearly 100 women and men gathered to network and to learn about issues facing women in the car wash industry. It’s obvious that this event is filling an important gap. The event itself was a tremendous success. I’m biased since I helped promote the event, but you really don’t need to take my word for it. Feedback from the attendees speaks volumes about the importance of this event and you can see that feedback in the story in this issue of CAR WASH Magazine.

In this issue of the Magazine, we also highlight the success of the first iteration of Car Wash Show Australia under the new partnership announced in January of 2018 and see what’s new for The Car Wash Show 2019 coming up in May in Nashville. You’ll also notice that we’re promoting Car Wash Show Europe in September in Amsterdam. There is no shortage of opportunities for you to connect with car wash professionals!

We say it often, but it remains true, it’s an exciting time to be in the car wash industry.

Beyond the events (where I hope to have the chance to connect with you in the future!), this issue of CAR WASH Magazine focuses on technology. We’ve filled this issue with stories on sustainability, payment technology, blockchain (not to be confused with bitcoin), and all things technology.

You’ll also find industry profiles in this issue, one of which includes and inspiring story that involves toilets … you’re just going to have to read it.
