We all know, that, In the last few years, the car wash industry has been growing and consolidating with increasing speed, and a big part of that has been the growing presence of private equity interests in the industry. And we’re seeing it on both the operator and supplier sides of the industry.
The reality though, is that the professional car wash industry does remain a highly fragmented industry. That means there is a lot of opportunity for companies looking to grow through acquisitions, opportunities for those in the industry who have built up strong businesses and looking for the next step in their car wash journey, and an opportunity for people to enter the industry.
Today, we’re going to share the story of Mammoth Holdings. Founded in 2002 by Gary Dennis and Chip Hackett, what started as a single self serve location is now a group of more than 70 washes across 14 brands, and presence in 10 states in the US. Since 2018 Mammoth Holdings has been backed by Red Dog Equity, but the business remains quintessential car wash.
