WOW Carwash of Las Vegas, Nevada, participated in the St. Jude Walk/Run to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. “During September, our Team Members collected donations from our Guests at all of our wash sites, on social media, and through personal connections. A portion of the funds raised was matched by the company.
We are excited to say that we raised $11,000,” Director of Marketing, D.J. Wonnacott-Yahnke said. “Our team also walked a collective of 10,035,156 steps both at the St. Jude Walk and through the virtual walk on behalf of the hospital!” The money raised will help support the important work that St. Jude does. This work includes supporting research efforts as well as taking care of patient medical expenses.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital provides free care to children who have been diagnosed with Cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Treating children from all 50 states and around the world, St. Jude’s work has been felt by thousands. They work hard so no family will ever have to receive a bill no matter if it is for treatment, travel, housing, or food. St. Jude also does groundbreaking research to find new treatments and cures. Over the last 50 years, treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80%.
