D&S recently debuted its latest car wash equipment innovation, The IQ Fits Anywhere Solution at the SCWA Expo in Arlington, Texas. Attendees got an up-close view of this smaller “footprint” version of the firm’s signature IQ In Bay Automatic Equipment System. D&S intends to market this reconfigured Touch Free package as a way for owners of older car washes with smaller bay dimensions to upgrade their equipment without additional construction.

According to D&S Chief Innovation Officer, Jerry Canfield, a slightly modified equipment design greatly reduces the minimum bay size needed for the IQ’s installation and operation.

We employed a dual energy chain and revised support structure to enable the Fits Anywhere Solution to fit in both narrow (13’ 4”) and short (27’ 6”) bays, he said.

“There are literally thousands of earlier generation car washes with outdated automatic equipment or self serve bays that severely limit the owners profit potential, said D&S Marketing Manager Ken Underhill. “A high percentage have bays just too small to accommodate the latest offering of IBA equipment without tearing down walls. The IQ Fits Anywhere Solution changes that.”

In addition to the re-engineered Touch Free equipment, The Fits Anywhere Solution features a new Integrated Pump Stand which combines the Chemical and High Pressure Pump components on a single frame, saving 15 sq. ft. of floor space. “Pump Room space is always at a premium, especially at older facilities, so this will prevent further cramping,” Underhill said.
