From July through September, Super Star Car Wash partnered with Phoenix Children’s Hospital, raising $26,406 and awareness for the hospital’s Child Passenger Safety Program. The partnership raised money through donations on point-of-sale systems with a fundraising wash option and donation button, as well as an online donation page. Super Star also hosted three educational events with Phoenix Children’s during Child Passenger Safety Week, which took place this year from September 19-25.
“We’re grateful to our customers, Phoenix Children’s Hospital and our employees for banding together to help this great cause. We’re honored to have made such a significant impact on behalf of Phoenix Children’s,” said Jonathan Kierman, Super Star’s vice president of sales and marketing.
In addition to the donations raised, the three events for child passenger safety education took place at Super Star full service locations around the Phoenix area on September 19, 24 and 25. The events featured a table with informational pamphlets and a demonstration child car seat to show a proper fit.
“We’re ecstatic the campaign with Super Star went so well. With the donations raised and the education we were able to provide customers, Super Star has been a great partner in our efforts to keep kids safe in car seats,” said Blanca Villaseñor, a senior injury prevention specialist at Phoenix Children’s Center for Family Health and Safety.
The Child Passenger Safety program at Phoenix Children’s provides consultations and education to parents and caregivers regarding proper fit for a child’s car seat. A proper fit is essential to keeping kids secure during car rides and reducing injuries in the event of a crash.
