Soapy Joe’s, San Diego’s popular car wash voted “Best Car Wash of 2020” by the San Diego Reader, has won a Gold MarCom award. MarCom Awards is an international creative competition for marketing and communications professionals and organizations.
These awards recognize outstanding achievement by creative professionals involved in the concept, direction, and production of marketing campaigns. MarCom is sponsored and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), and is the oldest, largest, and one of most well-respected creative competitions in the world.
This year, Soapy Joe’s won the gold award in the Strategic Communications category, under the Special Events section (152c). The winning campaign was for their wedding car wash, Tunnel of Love, in February of 2020. Ten couples came down to Soapy Joe’s Imperial Beach car wash location and got married. Getting married at a car wash is a novel and fun concept, and the overall campaign was a success.
