Every year, International Carwash Association awards Emerging Leaders Scholarships to some of the industry’s top, young talents at the manager level. Recipients are nominated by a peer or supervisor, hold a manager-level position and are 45 years of age or younger.
Here’s a quick look at this year’s scholarship recipients.
Tara Huntley - Operations Manager at RPM Express Car Wash, Pullman, Wash.
Tara went from teaching elementary school to creating the RPM Express brand to building her Pullman location from the ground up. She stays on the cutting edge of what’s to come in the car wash industry and brings that knowledge to her marketing, managing, and technological efforts at her wash.
Tayler Kiley - Manager at Whatta Wash South 14, Greer, S.C.
Tayler is currently a full-time manager six days a week while simultaneously writing her PhD dissertation on car wash memberships and marketing. She is extremely passionate and creative when it comes to the industry, and never misses an opportunity to help serve her local community.
Tyler Shreck - Store Manager at Autobell Car Wash, Hampton, Va.
Tyler joined Autobell in 2009, and was promoted to managing his first store in 2013. He has helped contribute to their Management Program, working with 40+ members along with having a direct hand in five different store manager promotions. He has made significant impacts on the professional careers around him, but also in the personal lives of many.
Iona Kearney - Operations Manager at Speedy Sparkle Car Wash, Berthoud, Colo.
Iona started in the car wash industry at 14 years old. After attending college, she decided the industry was for her. She returned and got managerial experience on multiple fronts, and brought with her innovative ideas that have helped shape her company’s success.
Miller Clayton - Operations Director at Washbox Car Wash, Rainbow City, Ala.
Miller has been with Washbox Car Wash for two years and has shown an extreme passion for the industry that is hard to find. His customer-first approach is always on full display and is the driving force for his wash’s success. He is the definition of an emerging leader all-around.
