Crew Carwash, an Indiana-based, multi-generational family business, is celebrating 75 years of service.

Back in 1948, founder Joe Dahm opened Indiana’s first automated carwash, Mike’s Minit Man. A few years later, Joe’s brother Ed Dahm, joined the business. At the time, only 18 carwashes were operating in the United States. Since then, millions of vehicles have passed through the carwash and Crew has become one of the largest carwash companies in the nation. Crew currently has 45 locations across Indiana and Minnesota and employs over 1,000 team members.

“My grandfather created a legacy of treating team members like family. He thought if you treat your team members like family they will treat your customers like family. We strive to continue this legacy and are proud to be on Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work, “said Sally Dahm Grant, third-generation Crew Carwash owner.

Crew is also dedicated to giving back to their local communities. Over the years, Crew has donated millions of dollars to support local organizations across all of their locations. Their largest annual fundraiser, “Crew for Kids,” raised over $180,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters at this year’s 14th annual event.

Still owned by the Dahm family, Crew Carwash continues to grow and innovate to provide customers with “Clean, Fast, and Friendly” service every day. This people-focused attitude originates from the wisdom of late founder Joe Dahm who always said, “We’re really in the people business. We just happen to wash cars.”
