Driven Brands Car Wash US announced the acquisition of Shine Factory Express Car Wash located in Greeneville, N.C., has been completed. With this acquisition, Driven Brands Car Wash US grows to eight locations in North Carolina. Driven Brands Car Wash is the world’s largest local car wash, cleaning more than 40 million cars a year.

Car Wash US first arrived in North Carolina in 2019, with the acquisition of seven TLC Xpress Car Wash locations in the Fayetteville Metro Area. TLC Xpress has since been rebranded to Car Wash USA Express, Driven Brands’ flagship car wash business with over 100 locations throughout the country.

Driven Brands Car Wash US President Gabe Mendoza said, “Shine Factory is an excellent car wash business with a strong customer base in a growing community, so it was clear to us that this acquisition would be a great addition to our network of washes in North Carolina.”

Driven Brands entered the car wash industry in 2020 with the acquisition of International Car Wash Group. It operates over 900 locations in 14 countries across US, Europe and Australia, with over 200 US venues. The company was founded in Germany in 1965 under the IMO brand, the name still used at its non-US locations.

Driven Brands Car Wash US operates under the Car Wash USA Express, Goo-Goo Express Wash, Supersonic Car Wash, The Wash Factory, and Mister B’s brands. It aims to be the partner of choice for employees and all car wash operators potentially interested in joining the Driven Brands Car Wash family.

Shine Factory owner Michael Rushing said, “If I could say one thing about Driven Brands’ acquisition of Shine Factory Express Car Wash LLC, it’s that everything ran smoothly from negotiations to the conclusion of the sale. After putting in five years of permitting, building, and helping manage Shine Factory, I would only want a top-notch organization such as Driven Brands Car Wash US handling our baby. As we pass the torch, we are excited that the community of Greenville, N.C., will be well served by such a high-level organization.”
