Crew Carwash, an Indiana-based family business, recently partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters for its 12th annual Crew for Kids fundraiser.

As part of its Crew for Kids fundraiser, Crew committed to donating 50% of the proceeds from all Ultimate Washes sold to Big Brothers Big Sisters. The event took place July 24 at all 37 Crew Carwash locations.

With the help of the community, Crew for Kids raised $124,199 in total for Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across Indiana. In total, the company has raised more than $1,000,000 for the nonprofit since its inaugural Crew for Kids fundraiser in 2010.

With the funds raised, Big Brothers Big Sisters will be able to create more than 62 new matches this year in the communities they serve. Since 2010, more than 650 “Littles” have benefited from a mentor because of the Crew for Kids event.

“We are blown away by the support of Crew Carwash and their customers!” said Darcey Palmer-Shultz, CEO of BBBS of Central Indiana. “This support will ensure we serve more great kids this year in time when they really need the connection, support and opportunities we can make possible. With so many of our Littles and Bigs participating at the event, we also saw a number of Littles learn job skills and get introduced to possible employment opportunities. We are so grateful to Crew Carwash for the unbelievable support. They believe fully in our mission, and we are proud to work with a company full of people who really care about the community and want to make a difference.”

Big Brothers Big Sisters is an organization that matches kids with caring adult mentors to help support them and empower them to reach their full potential. Big Brothers Big Sisters will use this money to create one-to-one mentoring relationships between “Bigs” and “Littles” in the community.

Funds raised benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies that serve markets in which Crew has locations. The agencies to receive the proceeds from this fundraiser include: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Lafayette, Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Indiana, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Wabash Valley and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bartholomew County.

“We are so happy to support their mission to create positive relationships through 1-to-1 mentoring” said Sally Grant, Executive Vice President of Crew Carwash. “We’ve been able to see first-hand what an impact the organization has on the youth in our community.”
