ShockWater CarWash Systems client Cobblestone Auto Spa reduces freshwater usage to 11.6 gallons per wash over three months.

ShockWater CarWash Systems and client Cobblestone Auto Spa released a report detailing industry-leading performance in car wash water savings. From November 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025, Cobblestone’s Glendale, Arizona, location achieved an average daily GPC (gallons per car) of just 11.6, far outpacing the 35 GPC mark that traditional reclaim systems are sometimes capable of producing.

“I expected to save maybe 20 percent on water. We immediately saw savings of 50 percent and we regularly see numbers below 13 GPC,” said Jonathan Van Donselaar, Cobblestone General Manager who oversees the company’s Glendale location.

Many traditional car wash reclaim systems can help car washes reduce water usage to around 35 GPC, but ShockWater’s ReGeneration technology is setting a new standard for water usage. In addition to an average daily GPC of 11.6, the Glendale location reported 28 days with a GPC below 10 and zero days above 22 GPC. These water savings carry a positive impact beyond Cobblestone’s cost savings. Glendale and many of the surrounding communities are currently experiencing an extreme drought, and every gallon of water saved is vital.
