On Saturday & Sunday November 6th & 7th the ownership of The Car Wash on Hamlin Hwy, and The CAR WASH on RT6 (Hawley) will be hosting a very unique fundraiser to aid in the financial support towards the Zipper Junction Holiday Donation Drive; which provides to underserved children and youth in Wayne and Pike Counties during the Holiday Season.

Unique, in that all we are asking the community to do is JUST WASH YOUR CAR. (We)The ownership will be contributing 100% of the sales these two days to the Zipper Junction Holiday Donation Drive. Simple. Contactless. Yet, effective for those wanting to give.

During the past 5 years, Zipper Junction Holiday Toy Drive has been able to provide toys through the toy drive collection boxes located at businesses throughout the two counties, which provided to over 700 children and youth each of these five years. (Zipper Junction stepped in 2015 when Wayne and Pike County lost Toy’s for Tot’s representation). Currently, due to the lingering effects of the Covid19 the collection of physical toys is not a viable option. So, Zipper Junction is relying on financial contributions in order to support the gift support of nearly 1,000 children and youth this 2021 Holiday Season.

The CAR WASH on Hamlin Hwy has been a toy collection site since 2015, utilizing an open top Red Jeep for “drop-offs”. In 2019 we opened our second car wash location in Hawley, The CAR WASH on RT6. Not having a second red Jeep, we fabricated oversized Big Red Mailboxes for toy donations/collections. It was a big success, as the generous-community-giving-Santas were able to drop off any time of the day, and many have been asking how to give this year.

When approached this year about the what-and-how Zipper Junction Holiday Toy Drive would function, we replied, “we’re all in, we will find a way to keep the spirit of giving alive.”
