Brown Bear Car Wash has donated $25,836 to Puget Sound Honor Flight, supporting the organization’s mission of transporting Western Washington veterans to visit military memorials in Washington, D.C.

Brown Bear donated $1 for each of the 25,836 cars washed at its 26 tunnel wash locations during the Veterans Day observance, November 11-12. Over the past five years, Brown Bear has donated over $57,800 to Puget Sound Honor Flight.

Brown Bear also provided 3,110 free “Beary Clean” car washes to veterans and current service members, culminating Brown Bear’s two-day salute to veterans.

“We simply could not be more appreciative of our long-standing partnership with Brown Bear,” said Denise Rouleau, board member and co-director of Puget Sound Honor Flight. We are overwhelmed with this year’s donation, which will make it possible for 25 local veterans to participate in cathartic trips to Washington, DC. We are a relatively small non-profit organization, and Brown Bear’s generosity truly does help make these trips possible.”

“We are honored to provide our area’s aging or terminally ill veterans with an opportunity, at no cost to them, to view the military branch memorials in our nation’s capital,” said Brown Bear’s founder and President Vic Odermat, himself a former Marine. “It’s our way of saluting the sacrifices and achievements of veterans in the communities we serve.”
